A Note from the Pastor
Dear Parishioners,
As we enter the month of August, we give thanks to God for the many blessings of summer—the beauty of creation, time spent with family and friends, and opportunities for rest and renewal. Even amidst vacations and changing routines, let us remember that the Lord faithfully invites us to gather each Sunday around His altar, where we are nourished by His Word and the Holy Eucharist.
August also reminds us to look ahead with hope as we prepare for the return to the regular rhythm of parish life in September. May these remaining weeks of summer be a time to deepen our trust in God, to reach out in kindness to those in need, and to grow in faith through prayer and the sacraments.
On behalf of Fr. Michael, Fr. James, Fr. Peter, and the staff of Immaculate Conception, we wish you all a blessed midsummer, and we are looking forward to our reunion in September.

Cari parrocchiani,
Mentre entriamo nel mese di agosto, rendiamo grazie a Dio per le numerose benedizioni dell’estate: la bellezza del creato, il tempo trascorso con la famiglia e gli amici e le opportunità di riposo e rinnovamento. Anche in mezzo alle vacanze e ai cambiamenti di routine, ricordiamoci che il Signore ci invita fedelmente a riunirci ogni domenica attorno al Suo altare, dove siamo nutriti dalla Sua Parola e dalla Santa Eucaristia.
Agosto ci ricorda anche di guardare avanti con speranza, mentre ci prepariamo al ritorno al ritmo regolare della vita parrocchiale a settembre. Possano queste ultime settimane d’estate essere un tempo per approfondire la nostra fiducia in Dio, per tendere la mano con gentilezza a chi è nel bisogno e per crescere nella fede attraverso la preghiera e i sacramenti.
A nome di Padre Michael, Padre James, Padre Peter e di tutto lo staff dell’Immacolata Concezione, vi auguriamo una serena mezza estate e non vediamo l’ora di ritrovarci a settembre.

Summer Office Hours
Please note that the Parish Office will be on reduced Summer Hours Starting July 1st until September 2nd, 2026. The Office will be open Monday to Thursday’s from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm and on Friday’s from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm. The Office will be closed on all public holidays throughout the summer. We kindly ask that you call the office before coming to ensure that someone will be here. Please note that emails and voicemails will be checked even if the office is closed. ShareLife 50th Anniversary Mass
Join us on Saturday, August 22, 2026, as we celebrate 50 years of bringing the hands of Christ to those in need through faith, compassion, and service. Mass at St. Michael’s Cathedral Basilica will celebrated by His Eminence Frank Cardinal Leo, Metropolitan Archbishop of Toronto at 10:30 a.m.
This is a free event, but registration is required. Due to limited seating in the Cathedral, early registration is encouraged. Please RSVP by August 17.

A Franciscan Jubilee Year for the 800th
Anniversary of the Passing of St. Francis of Assisi
This year, 2026, marks the 800th anniversary of the glorious passing of our beloved founder, Saint Francis of Assisi 1226-2026. For this reason, Pope Leo XIV (14th) has proclaimed a special year during which the faithful can obtain a plenary indulgence – a spiritual grace- by fulfilling the usual conditions (sacramental confession, Eucharistic communion, and prayer of the intentions of the Pope) and by making a pilgrimage to any Franciscan conventual church or any place of worship dedicated to Saint Francis of Assisi. St Francis statue will be on display in our church for the entire 2026 Year to recognize this Jubilee Year as proclaimed by Pope Leo.
Prayer written by Pope Leo on the occasion of this holy year:
“May the example and spiritual legacy of this Saint, strong in faith, steadfast in hope and ardent in active charity towards his neighbour, inspire in everyone the importance of trusting in the Lord, of living a life faithful to the Gospel, and of accepting and illuminating every circumstance and action of life with faith and prayer.” Pope Leo XIV

Mass Cards for Faith and Healing
Think about your friends or loved ones who are facing something difficult right now. They need to know you are thinking about them and praying for them that they can be healed through the power of prayer and strengthened by God’s love. And together, we can all find such comfort in prayer, especially when we pray to our most willing friend St. Anthony, the miracle worker, who hears us and cares for us in our time of need.
Someone in need of spiritual, emotional, or physical healing will find the strength, faith, and courage they need, along with your most heartfelt prayers in the Mass enrollment card.
Today, ask St. Anthony to intercede for you and your loved ones.
These beautiful cards are available in the Parish Office.
Like our Perpetual Mass Cards, your friend or loved one will be registered to receive daily prayer intentions for their faith and healing. Call or visit the Parish Office for more information or to order a card.
Perpetual Mass Cards
You and members of your family, both living and deceased, can be permanently associated with the Franciscan friars by perpetual enrollments. Such perpetual membership enrollments are now widely used as spiritual gifts. They offer appropriate evidence of your sympathy in time of joy or sorrow. The enrollments are available for a relative or friend who has died, for the living, the sick, in commemoration of a feast day; birthday, anniversary or other similar special occasion.
The enrollments confer special spiritual benefits of close association with the Franciscan friars and their apostolic work. Both during life and after death they are in assurance of special remembrance daily in the Masses, prayers, and good works of the Franciscan fraternity. Call the Parish Office to request a Perpetual Mass Card for your loved one.
In Memoriam & In Lieu of Flowers
In Memoriam and In Lieu of Flowers cards are now available. They can help families make a special gift to the Church in honor of a loved one. “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” – Matthew 5:4

Weekly Mass Intentions
Special Occasions and Anniversaries – The celebration of Mass for a deceased loved one on an important anniversary is a very meaningful and caring expression of love for that person. It is an important part of our Catholic tradition. Please contact the Parish Office at 416-651-7875 to request a Mass Intention.
